2015 Fall, Hallasan Mountain Hiking

 The mountain climbing in Jeju Island was held twice on October 23~24 and November 13~14.  We hiked Hallasan Mountain, which is the highest mountain in South Korea and has an exceptionally graceful shape. It was sufficient to feel the magnificence of Baengnokdam Crater Lake and the colorful trees all over the mountain valley.

The 19th Anniversary of the Foundation

 We celebrated the 19th anniversary of foundation at our head office.  After awarding prizes for 5 and 10 years workers of continuous service, all ESCO members had a pleasant time together with meals.   Congratulations on 19th anniversary of ESCO!

SICAT 2015 CEO Keynote Lecture

 Dr. Seung-Ryull Kim, CEO of ESCO, presented a keynote lecture at the SICAT 2015 (Symposium on Innovation & Challenges in Asian Tunnelling 2015).  The conference was held on 2 September in Singapore. Dr. Kim inspired the audiences with his speech under the title of “Design and Construction Technology for the Underground Space in Urban Areas from the Experience on the Seoul Subway System”.

Silver Member Plaque Award for 15 Year of continuous service

 Silver member plaques were handed over to our 15 years of continuous service employees.    Congratulations to all the silver members who have worked harder than anyone for the development of our company.

Award from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport

 In commemoration of ‘Civil Construction Day 2015’, Mr. Gi-Dong Kim, Senior Supervising Engineer of ESCO, received an Award from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. He got credit for his commitment to construction industry in Korea.  ESCO sincerely congratulates Mr. Kim!

2015 Spring Workshop "Let's Challenge with Passion!"

 We had a spring workshop to a pension nearby Gapyeong on March 13~14.    On the first day, we had a lively athletic meeting, and on the second day we climbed Yumyeongsan Mountain. We watched spring clothes the land with green leaves.  It was the time that we took a big stretch, smelt the refreshing air of spring, and enjoyed the gorgeous weather to the hilt.

Awarded the National R&D Project

 A National R&D Project was granted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (hosted by Korea Evaluation Institute of Industrial Technology).  The research project is entitled “Development of a Maintenance Platform based on Asset Management for Underground Structure of Plants and Large-Scale Utilities (focusing on energy production and supply plants)”. The research fund is USD 2.6 million for 4 years.

Beginning of 2015

 On the first day of the New Year, we walked along the Dulle-gil, a 157-kilometer waking trail of Namhansanseong Fortress, covered with white snow, and made New Year's wishes.  After lunch, we moved to the office and held a ceremony to share things of our hopes and wishes of upcoming 2015.   Also, there was an award for 15 years of continuous service employees (commemorating and celebrating the 15th anniversary of their services).

 There was a ceremony to finish the year at the office.  We also held a "Manito" gift-sharing event, shaking hands with each other and saying things about our wishes and gratitude.  We sincerely hope you and your family to be full of health and happiness in 2015!

2014 Volunteering Day

 ESCO employees joined in the "12th Love for our Neighbors" event hosted by Sangdo Community Center, in spite of the biting cold wind on our faces. They delivered pieces of coal to keep those who are less fortunate warm in this winter.    We would like to thank all the employees who took part in this meaningful event.

2014 Fall, Unaksan Mountain Hiking

 The autumn is in the air. 2014 ESCO fall climbing event was held at Unaksan Mountain in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi-do Province.   Clear sky came out as we climbed the mountain. And all the leaves on the trees have turned red and yellow. We enjoyed the beautiful fall leaves before winter comes.

The 18th Anniversary of Foundation

 We celebrated the 18th anniversary of foundation at the office.   All members of ESCO had a great time together with meals, after awarding prizes for 10 and 5 years workers in long service.    Congratulations on the 18th anniversary of ESCO!

Designated as ‘K-Brain Power’ in 2014

 As of 2014, 18 companies were designated as ‘K-Brain Power’ in 5 areas (engineering, design, embedded SW, system semiconductor and bio) by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. ESCO is holding that position ever since then in the field of engineering.

Academy Award and Society Award from the KTA

 Mr. Je-Don Hwang, the President of ESCO, and Mr. Ho Lee, the Managing Director of ESCO, received Academy Award and Society Award from the Korean Tunnelling and Underground Space Association (KTA) at the General Assembly and Annual Spring Conference of the KTA which was held in 2014. Both of them were highly recognized for their contribution to the development of the society.  ESCO sincerely congratulates Mr. Hwang and Mr. Lee!

Technology Award from the KSCE and Award from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport

 Mr. Hong-Nyeon Moon, Executive Director of ESCO, received Technology Award from the Korean Society of Civil Engineers for his contribution to the country and the community through his technical activities. Mr. Gi-Mun Jeong, Assistant Senior Engineer of ESCO, received the Award from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport for his hard work and accomplishment to engineering industry in Korea as well.  ESCO sincerely congratulates Mr. Moon and Mr. Jeong!

'The Youth', 2014 Special Lecture by Dr. Jin-Sung Seol

 We invited Dr. Jin-Sung Seol to the conference room of our head office. And there was a special lecture on the subject of 'The Youth'.   While listening to the lectures of Dr. Jin-Sung Seol, who is living a life filled with enthusiasm at his age, it became a chance to rethink about the true meaning of 'The Youth'.

End of 2013 & 2014 Culture Event

 On December 30 2013,  There was a ceremony to finish the year at our head office.  We also exchanged a "Manitto" gifts and finished the year together.   On January 2 2014,  we had a ceremony to start the business year.  We welcomed the New Year together saying things about our wishes and gratitude.  After the ceremony, all employees moved to the nearby movie theater and watched the movie, 'The Suspect'.    We sincerely hope you to be full of health and happiness in 2014!

2013 Volunteering Day

 ESCO employees joined in the "11th Love for our Neighbors" event hosted by Sangdo Community Center, and delivered the 2300 donated coals and wished to bring warmth to those who are less fortunate, living in Sadang-dong, Dongjak-gu.  We would like to express deepest gratitude to all of our employees who voluntarily participated in these activities, not to speak of fund raising.  Also, ESCO hope we would continue to help for our neighbors next year.

2013 Winter Event 'Love My Country, Love My Neighbors'

 We hosted the 2013 ESCO winter event with the theme of "Love My Country, Love My Neighbors" for one night and two days on December 5~6.   We have deeply recalled the meaning of the theme, under our circumstance that is divided and seperated into 2 countries, visiting Yanggu-gun (the 4th Underground Tunnel, Eulji Observatory, Dutayeon Valley), Yangyang-gun (Hajodae Pavilion, Naksansa Temple) and Gosung-gun (Unification Observatory) in Gangwon-do.
