WHAT WE DO

Research and Development

ESCO R&D Institute enhances its technological competitiveness and secures the specialized intellectual property by conducting various joint R&D projects with research institutes such as the Korean Society of Civil Engineers (KSCE), the Korean Tunnelling and Underground Space Association (KTA), the Korean Geotechnical Society (KGS), universities, and academies.

Techniques to Provide a Large Underground Space

Underground space is a valuable resource, particularly in the mega-cities, for comfortable urban daily life. The utilization of underground space is now expanded not only to infrastructure development but also to underground storage facilities. ESCO R&D Institute has been carrying out R&D projects to develop cost-effective solutions for the creation of underground spaces on a large scale.

  • Planning the test bed verification of the underground facility with analytical data
ESCO R&D Institute has an ongoing R&D Project entitled as “Development of a Maintenance Platform based on Asset Management for the Underground Structure of Plants and Large Scale Utilities”. This project is to develop performance and deterioration prediction algorithm and to establish an asset management system for underground facilities which can be effectively controlled and managed once it is completed.
