Patent registration of “Performance prediction system of structures for a strategic maintenance”

  On September 25, ESCO Consultant & Engineers Company got a patent of which title is “the performance prediction system of structures for establishing a strategic maintenance plan (Patent Number : 10-1783250)” from the Korean Intellectual Property Office. This patent, which is one of the accomplishments of R&D with the support of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, proposes a new preventive asset management model to maintain the underground structures efficiently and safely.

SICAT 2015 CEO Keynote Lecture

 Dr. Seung-Ryull Kim, CEO of ESCO, presented a keynote lecture at the SICAT 2015 (Symposium on Innovation & Challenges in Asian Tunnelling 2015).  The conference was held on 2 September in Singapore. Dr. Kim inspired the audiences with his speech under the title of “Design and Construction Technology for the Underground Space in Urban Areas from the Experience on the Seoul Subway System”.

Awarded the National R&D Project

 A National R&D Project was granted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (hosted by Korea Evaluation Institute of Industrial Technology).  The research project is entitled “Development of a Maintenance Platform based on Asset Management for Underground Structure of Plants and Large-Scale Utilities (focusing on energy production and supply plants)”. The research fund is USD 2.6 million for 4 years.

Designated as ‘K-Brain Power’ in 2014

 As of 2014, 18 companies were designated as ‘K-Brain Power’ in 5 areas (engineering, design, embedded SW, system semiconductor and bio) by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. ESCO is holding that position ever since then in the field of engineering.

 Mr. Je-Don Hwang, the President of ESCO, and Mr. Ho Lee, the Managing Director of ESCO, received Academy Award and Society Award from the Korean Tunnelling and Underground Space Association (KTA) at the General Assembly and Annual Spring Conference of the KTA which was held in 2014. Invited Lecture in the Annual Spring Conference 2013 of the KGS

 Dr. Seung-Ryull Kim, CEO of ESCO, gave an Invited Lecture in the Annual Spring Conference 2013 of the Korean Geotechnical Society (KGS), held at the Yeungnam University on 21 March, 2013. The lecture is entitled "The Use of Underground Space and the Growth of a City".  His lecture covered the current issues on creation of underground space and proposal for utilization of underground space in the future and improvement in the international competitiveness on domestic technology of civil engineering.
